Who We Are
Building Bridges Tuolumne strives to co-create spaces that welcomes anyone and everyone interested in finding common ground across political and cultural differences. We believe that sharing day-to-day stories of challenges, and joys connects and nurtures open communication within our community.
What We Do
We organize local events and offer resources to build bridges in our community, and we welcome individuals and groups wanting to join. In the spirit of collaboration, we partner with the national, non-profit organization Braver Angels to bring facilitated workshops and moderated debates to Tuolumne County.
We welcome a full range of progressive and conservative viewpoints.
She was born in the Yucatan Peninsula, and has been in Tuolumne County since 2000. Through her life and work experience, she came to believe that finding common ground through stories and shared values has the potential to bring people together for the betterment of the community. Mercedes has participated in the community in different capacities, and co-founded Building Bridges two years ago.
A lifelong Republican, with a willingness to hear everyone out. Politics has overshadowed our great community for far too long. We accomplish so much more when we are united. I am proud to participate in Building Bridges and Braver Angles, where no one is trying to change you, and it’s all for better understanding and finding common ground.
Born in Los Angeles, Greg has lived in Tuolumne County since 1994. With a background in media and communications, he has a strong belief in the power of conversation to promote understanding between individuals.
