Common Ground Workshop – Economic Development
Building Bridges, in partnership with Braver Angels, presents a Common Ground Workshop on Economic Development, October 14th at 10am, at the Veterans Hall in Sonora.
Workshop Description
The Common Ground Workshop brings community members together for a deep dive into an issue, in this case economic development. Together, participants talk about their connection to the issue and their opinion on solutions.
We will start with presentations from at least two community members with different perspectives about what economic development means for Tuolumne County. Then, trained moderators will lead us through a series of exercises to share perspectives, examine questions related to the topic, and identify common concerns and alternatives for future actions.
The workshop’s desired outcome includes a combined list of values, concerns and policies that are unanimously accepted to become the Points of Agreement.
Workshop Goals
- To delve into a single issue where citizens differ, and learn how each other sees the problem
- To discover areas of common ground and points of agreement
- To learn something that might be helpful to others in our community
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to anyone interested in our County and its prosperity. Are you satisfied with the status quo, do you have concerns about it? How do you convey ideas to the leadership of Tuolumne County? What are their responses?
